Can you study ACCA while working full time?

This is the single most common question we get, and the honest answer is yes. A large share of ACCA students in India are working full time, sitting one or two papers a session around a job. It is normal, and it is very doable. What breaks people is almost never the syllabus. It is losing the thread after one busy week and never quite getting back on.

Two ways to fit it around work

There is no single right format. There is the one that fits your week.

  • The recorded course: every session is recorded and yours to watch whenever you like. You study around your hours, at 6am or 11pm, and start whenever you are ready rather than waiting for a batch.
  • The live batch: taught live, but every session is also recorded. So a late night at work does not leave you behind. You catch the recording and rejoin the next live class.

Pick a realistic weekly load, then protect it

One paper per session is a sensible default when you are working. Two is possible if the papers are related and your season at work is quiet. Three is where most working students come unstuck. It is better to pass one cleanly than to spread yourself across three and pass none.

Whatever you choose, put the study blocks in your calendar like meetings, not like intentions. A protected ninety minutes, three or four times a week, beats a heroic six-hour Sunday that keeps getting cancelled.

Have a plan for the bad week

You will have a week where work eats everything. That is not failure, it is just life, and a good study plan expects it. The students who pass are not the ones who never fall behind. They are the ones who have an obvious way back in: the next recording queued up, a mentor to ask what to skip, and a plan that flexes instead of shattering.

That is exactly what the mentor support is for. When a week goes sideways, you message the person who teaches you and get told what actually matters before the exam, so you spend your limited hours on the right things.

The bottom line

Working full time is not a reason you cannot do ACCA. It is a reason to be deliberate about format, load and recovery. Get those three right and the job stops being the obstacle.
