ACCA syllabus

ACCA is changing in 2027. Here is what it means for your passes.

ACCA is making the biggest change to the qualification in years, and it lands in 2027. If you are studying now, or about to start, the first question is usually the anxious one: do my passes still count? The short answer is yes. Every paper you have already passed carries forward. Nothing you have earned is lost.

Here is the rest of it, without the drama.

The timeline

The current syllabus runs until June 2027. Teaching on the new syllabus begins in July 2027, and the first exams on the new format are sat in September 2027. So there is a clear, unhurried runway. You do not need to rush a decision this week because of a change more than a year away.

What actually changes

  • The qualification moves from thirteen papers across three levels to eleven papers across four levels.
  • Business and Technology (BT) leaves the qualification.
  • Business Law moves down to the Knowledge level.
  • Performance Management becomes Performance with Data Analysis.
  • Strategic Business Reporting (SBR) becomes Business and Sustainability Reporting.

What this means for you, specifically

It depends entirely on which papers you have already cleared and which are left. That is the whole point of mapping it out rather than reading a generic summary. Two students with the same number of passes can have very different routes through the change.

If you send us the papers you have cleared, we will map exactly what is left for you under the new structure, and whether it is worth finishing a paper before June 2027 or picking it up afterwards. That advice is free, and there is no enrolment attached to it.

The calm takeaway

A syllabus change sounds alarming and is usually used as a sales tactic. It should not be. Your passes carry forward, you have over a year of runway, and the path through it is knowable. Plan it once, properly, and then get back to studying.
